Even More Adventures!

I've been meaning to add this fun post for awhile, but somehow time slips away (like usual).  Oh, and we did lose an hour thanks to Daylight Savings, so at least there's that excuse :)

But Larsonland does have some fun new adventures in store... baby #2 is on the way this summer!  We are so excited to expand our family and see Benjamin become a big brother.  It's really hit me recently how much he's truly going to enjoy having a sibling.  He's such a kind, sweet soul, and I know that he's got a lot of love to share with a brother or sister.  He's already such a helpful little guy (well, when bribed with a treat most of the time) :) He likes to brag: "Momma, look, I helping daddy do dishes!" or "Daddy, look, I helping momma put this away!" He also loves saying hello to what he refers to as "Baby Sister" in my belly, and he even loves to give him/her a kiss!

We can't wait to meet you sweet Baby Larson - we pray every day that you are growing strong and healthy and that you will be sickness free.  But no matter what, we love you and anxiously await your arrival!

Big boy bed and stuff

We survived a crazy weekend, one in which our normally sweet, kind, happy, fun-loving son turned into a mini-mad man.  He was mad, cranky, sad, angry... you name it.  The. Whole. Weekend.  Granted, he's coming off a nasty ear infection/cold, but still... it was rough.

To focus on brighter days, I thought I'd finally upload some pictures from a couple weeks ago... when we decided to move Benjamin into his very own big boy bed!  He was doing so great in his crib, always sleeping well and asking to "get out" in the morning when he was ready to get up, we thought he could use some more responsibility.  And thankfully, we were right!

The transition to his new bed has (knock-on-wood) been surprisingly amazing.  Benjamin took to the bed quickly, did some monkey-jumping, but then settled into as his new nighttime place.  He loves it!

A few pictures from the first night:

He actually did generally really well for the first night of sleep. He only woke up once, sat up, looked around, and then went back to sleep.  At some point in the night he climbed out of bed and slept for a few hours on the floor right next to the bed.  But after I picked him up and transferred him back into the bed, it's been smooth sailing from then on.  The boy has been a miracle big boy bed sleeper for us.  (Knock on wood!)

Sometimes we'll catch him sleeping in odd positions, but the funniest part is that he generally has started sleeping with his head on the pillow pretty consistantly!

And we also had a few visitors the next weekend!

Oh, and the beginnings of his oncoming cold/ear infection... poor kiddo looked like he was hit by a bus every day. :(

But even with a nasty cough, he slept wonderfully through the night.  In his bed. :)

And Mimi came by for a few nights!   She helped Auntie Suzie and Uncle Steve drive part way to California (from blizzardy Minnesota), and we had a great time catching up with them all (despite the lack of pictures somehow!).  Wish we could see them all more often.  And of course, Benjamin was just in heaven with Mimi.  She sure does spoil him!  (PS - he loves all his new pajamas, those were some great thrift store finds!!)

Oh, and Colorado's weather has been schizophrenic.  70 one day, 10 the next.  On Friday night (after it being almost 60 during the day), Benjamin asked to walk to the park.  But it dropped about 20 degrees in the span of an hour, and we were left freezing at the park!  Thankfully dad rescued us and did a few slides with Benjamin before we headed home :)  It snowed the next day (brrr....) but is back in the 50s today!

And one more time, here is our sweet big-boy-bed-sleeper!  If only everything else he did/learned went this well :)
