Stephanie's Shower

I'm a little behind on blog posts, but wanted to make sure I didn't miss sharing photos from our dear friend Stephanie's baby shower last weekend.  Jill hosted it at her beautiful new home in the Highlands, and it was an evening filled with a lot of love for Stephanie and Baby T!  We can't wait to meet the little guy/girl on 12-12-12 and shower it with even more love in person :)  Stephanie found out early in her pregnancy that Baby T has spina bifida, and she and her husband have been such great examples of love and strength as they walk down this road that most of us have not.  Baby T isn't even here yet, and they have already been amazing parents to that sweet little one.  Baby T - we are ready for your arrival and can't wait to love you along side your wonderful parents!

What happened to the Buffaloes?

Despite the fact that my Colorado Buffaloes were recently ranked in the BOTTOM 25 teams in college football, Matt and I could not pass up tickets to the Thursday night game against ASU last week (thanks to my always gracious friend Eric who also gets us into the best tailgating around with all his former teammates and whatnot...). Our friends John and Lindsay joined us for the fun, and the game was also televised on ESPN just in case the rest of the country wanted to witness just how awful the team really is...

We had a great time out for the evening (while Benjamin played with his grampa and grandma in Louisville), and even saw a glimmer of hope as CU got within 3 at halftime. But alas... The true CU team showed up in the second half and got slaughtered.

Wish we had better football these days, but every time I'm back on campus, I'm always thankful to have gone to such a great school that just so happens to also be one of the most beautiful. So, I guess Buffs win after all :)

Meeting the Neighbors

So, yesterday we spent some time at {hopefully} our new house to take some measurements and show it off to my folks.  Upon arriving, we got to spend some time with {hopefully} our new neighbors... and it was awesome.  To say we already felt right at home wouldn't even do it justice!  We learned a lot about our street, met several cute kiddos, and learned that one of the kids next door to us is only 3 months older than Benjamin!  We talked about how much they love the elementary school, how close the neighbors are, how long certain families have lived there, and how much they love their {hopefully our} neighborhood.  It was such a neat feeling to hear the pride in their voices, especially talking to us - strangers who don't look, talk, or act much like themselves.  They were super welcoming and excited to {hopefully} have us on their block.  I honestly could not have wished for a better situation when meeting potentially new neighbors! 

We've been stuck this week in the appraisal feedback waiting game... sadly we have no updates on that front, but hopefully by early next week we'll be moving forward with everything with less stress.  We're anxious to get into our new home.  Home.  {Hopefully: Yay!}
