House-hunt update

I secretly wish we were doing House Hunters (one of my favorite shows), but after learning what a "hoax" it is, we decided not to try this time (I won't spoil it for you if you don't know about the hoax yet.  Best not to find out.).  Maybe for the next house...  :)  I mean, we have got to be less annoying than at least 75% of the people they get on there (come on, how many women need to say "Well, this can be my closet, but where will yours be?"??  Seriously...).  But I don't know if you get any prize/reward for being on the show... so yet another reason to forget about it this go round.  At least the My First Place people still get some awesome new furniture or a big fat gift card.  Sadly, our first place has come and "gone".

So, just a little status update to share.  We are still under contract on our current house (with inspection scheduled for Thursday), and we are currently under contract to buy a home in Denver!  So far things have worked out to hopefully close on October 26th (on both!), so we're really hoping/praying for a smooth few weeks of inspections and appraisals to make sure it all works out okay.  As I mentioned before, the market in Denver/Boulder has been completely insane, so we're just thankful to have found a home we really like.  It's not actually in one of the neighborhoods we were hoping for, but the added bonus is that we will at least have several friends nearby to make up for that.  We'll keep you posted as things move forward, trying to not get too excited before some of our big hurdles are actually crossed!

T&M's wedding

Friday night we attended the wedding of some friends we met after moving to Denver (through our good friends, the Campbells).  They are a fun and beautiful couple, and their wedding matched that description perfectly: Fun & Beautiful :)  We had a great time celebrating their marriage, dancing with friends to the bluegrass band, and enjoying the gorgeous setting at Chatfield Botanical Gardens.  Weddings (and friends) are so much fun!

And we were grateful my mom and Jason could come up to watch Benjamin while we were at the celebration!  Benjamin loves his Nana :)

Update on Life, House, and Fall

For starters - this is my main man, Benjamin.  He is my best bud, and he and I have been excellent sidekicks during the past few weeks of chaos.  I love this little man, and I am so thankful for what a great kiddo he is.  Sure, there's a meltdown once or twice a day, but overall, he has been awesome...  I have loved watching him grow so much this past month as he chats up a storm (ba ba ba, la la la, mmmmm), stands up on any and everything, crawls across the house, and generally just seems to understand so much more.  My favorite sound is listening to him play with his toys while I'm in another room... he loves to talk while exploring, and it melts my heart!

During showings, he and I have had to skee-daddle out of here and occupy ourselves for hours at a time.  We spent those hours at parks, Target, watching dad play at the Empire, driving around in a desperate attempt to find a home that perhaps we missed during our online searches, fighting parking tickets, grabbing lunch at Civic Center Eats, changing poopy diapers on the front seat of the car.... ;)  There was no end to the "fun".

who doesn't love a sea of food trucks!?!
But it was all worth it in the end, because we are under contract!

Before we actually went under contract, we were stressed to the max and worried about if the house would sell, when the house would sell, how much the house would sell for... so a weekend we had planned in Frisco came at just the perfect time!  It felt like a great way to escape the madness.

quick stop for dinner on the way up!
don't tell Grampa I was naked on the floor!!!

The weather couldn't have been more perfect, and the trees were in the middle of changing and oh-so-breathtaking!

We headed over to Oktoberfest in Breckenridge for a bit where we met up with a few friends. Stupid me forgot to take many pictures... so these will have to do for this year.

 Blurry 'cause they're dancing!!

And Sunday we took advantage of the weather with some walks and brunch in Old Town!

Benjamin's new favorite position on occasion...

And of course a little football and Benjamin play time back at the condo :)  Perfect weekend!

So, that's it for now... we're still looking, looking, looking for a new home, but this crazy market is making us crazy!  This whole real estate business is pure insanity.  But hopefully, by the end of October, we'll be in a new home for Benjamin (and guests!) to enjoy!
