Fun times in Frisco!

As I mentioned yesterday, David and Emma drove down from North Dakota to meet little Benjamin and spend some time up in the mountains with us this past weekend.  We don't get to see them nearly enough, so it was a real treat to be able to have a little time with them.  And with Uncle David starting med school in the Fall, we are already crossing fingers that they come to Colorado for his residency!  I've already given the "Colorado is just about the best place to live" speech many times (which is the same speech I have probably given some of you in hopes of luring you back... you know who you are), but now that there's a nephew here, I'm hoping there's an even stronger pull!

The time together was short, but we had a great time.  They got to our house on Friday morning and spent some time with BW and I before Matt got home from work and we all cruised up to Frisco!

Grabbing dinner at the always packed Hacienda Real

Saturday we took it easy in the morning and of course spent some time cuddling with Benjamin.

Wilson immediately loved him.  Duh.

We then got Benjamin all bundled up and walked into town for some breakfast.  It was chilly (and super windy) up there! And while we are always dealing with a crazy dog who wants to pull and be obnoxious on just about every walk, Wilson (the most well-behaved dog I have ever met!!) showed Lincoln up by walking quietly beside David, without a leash, and doing anything they asked of her.  David trained her to be his hunting companion, and she can understand and follow almost any command you could think of.  I think she is smarter than many humans.  And that is not an exaggeration.

Clearly, BW fell asleep in the comfy winter suit!  Still cute though:

While the boys decided to hike up Mt. Royal, Emma and I decided to take a trip into Silverthorne to hit up the outlets for a little shopping.  Not before a nap of course!

We stopped by Bryan's family's cabin briefly to say hi!

Thankfully, David is a little better about remembering to use the camera, so I gave the boys my point and shoot and sent them on their way up the cold, windy, mountain.  It unfortunately was a little too cold and snowy for Lincoln to join them, so he was pretty bummed to have to stay home alone. He missed some great views!

I got a text from Matt early on saying: "I am so out of shape."   I'm pretty sure this clip was from about 30 minutes into the four hour adventure :)

The wind was absolutely crazy for most of the weekend.  I don't quite know how the boys survived up on the mountain.  This is a funny clip of them trying to show just how windy it was as Matt (in my dad's shell) is almost blown away.... the wind really kicks up about 15 seconds into the clip.

Heading back down:

This is what we arrived home to after shopping:

Emma got a little finger signaling from Benjamin during one of his feedings...  who taught him that??

She was a trooper and handled one of the biggest blowouts yet:

The ND Larson crew:

We haven't gotten many family pictures since BW's arrival (probably because I shower so rarely now and definitely cannot pull off the unshowered look), so I gave Emma my camera and asked her to take a few pics...

This was our "photo shoot" location:

Saturday afternoon, while Emma and I ran to the grocery store to pickup food for dinner, we came across this gorgeous view of remaining sunlight hitting some peaks off in the east.  It was pretty amazing.

And then we turned around and saw this sunset off to the west.  What a gorgeous place.

Sadly, Emma and David had to hit the road early on Sunday (like 6am early!).  Matt and I took advantage of the downtime and played with Benjamin in bed for awhile before meandering downstairs to watch a little TV and take a 2 hour nap (oops!).

I mean, seriously, this baby is so cute, huh??

That evening we headed back over to Bryan's cabin to hang out with his family, introduce Benjamin to Bryan's adorable nieces (Ella and Brynn), and eat some delicious dinner.  It was a great time!  Annie was kind enough to make an adorable name sign for Benjamin along with getting him a little baseball outfit for the summer!  Too kind of them.

Sad the weekend is over, of course, but SO thankful for my little family.  Many more fun times to come!
