Friday night we caught up, enjoyed some coos and crys with BW, and ordered some El Diablo take out...
Saturday we took a nice walk down to Broadway and grabbed lunch at the Walnut Room (where of course we met someone that Suzie played three degrees of separation with and is from the same small Minnesota town that Sara will be getting married in this June - small world!):
After the walk we spent some time at the house and played a little "Triv Pur" (trivial pursuit for you novices out there). Suzie is a key Triv Pur mentor in Matt's life, hence the shout out he gave her during his Jeopardy Winner's Circle interview :) So, Sara and I had to split them up. Despite Suzie's vast array of knowledge, she is somewhat lacking in the pop culture genre (which, oddly, is just about the only category I'm good at!!), and we were able to kick her butt. Figuratively, of course. And all the while, we enjoyed a little more time with BW.
I think these must be two of Suzie's favorite things: playing Triv Pur, and holding Benjamin :) |
Benjamin looks like he knew the answer for sure... |
That night my cousin and her boyfriend were in town from DC on their way up to Breck. We decided to have everyone (including my folks and sister/DJ) stop by the house since Matt's parents were also en route (via car) from Minnesota! It was a full house, but a wonderful time chatting and giving lots of love to the little man. (I was, however, disappointed in my appetizer smorgasbord having not gotten much notice about the shindig and having basically no food in the house. Nothing a little tunes and wine can't make up for, I suppose.)
Getting ready to see new and old friends! We had to dress him up a bit for the special occasion. |

When Barry and Pam arrived, it was a sweet moment seeing Barry meet his very first grandchild for the first time! Benjamin was over the moon of course.
And Grandpa Monroe was excited to hang with BW too!
Sunday was our last day with Aunt Suzie and Aunt Sara (sad!), but we enjoyed it by grabbing a delicious brunch together and spending a little more time at home as a family. (Sara and I snuck away and met my sister for a little foot reflexology action - it was fabulous!) We are so thankful they could visit and spend time with their nephew. Benjamin is excited to get out to Minnesota for Aunt Sara's wedding in June!
Sara took some dancing-with-BW pointers from me :)
If you're looking for foot reflexology near you - look for this sign :) (By the way - you also get a full body massage! It's amazing) |
