Weekend fun

We had a busy, but super fun weekend here.  It was HOT (like almost 100), but somehow Matt survived ;)

Quick snapshot of what we did:

Trip to the museum with Benjamin's buddy Emme (he has a total crush on her and tries to kiss her all the time) - Rachel's parents got her the massive membership (not the real name), so she can get in 7 adults with her for free!  Talk about an awesome gift!  We love the museum.

First time on the potty with a potty seat... no, we're not training yet, but a few times he's said stuff that makes us think he wants to try and be a big boy... so we tried it out.  No go. :)

After hitting mom in the face, Benjamin got a time out.  He was clearly very ashamed of his decision:

But not too ashamed because he came upstairs and proceeded to color on the bathroom door!  GUILTY!

Saturday morning we went to the Three Lions for the English Premiere League's opening day games.  Matt was so excited to watch Everton play once again, and he even had Benjamin wear the Everton scarf around the bar (wow did that boy love the attention!).  Thankfully, Everton doesn't have a huge crowd in Denver, so we were banished upstairs, which is much easier with a kiddo in tow!  The first floor was packed with EPL fans, so it was nice to have a little room to ourselves!

This hasn't happened in a LONG LONG time - Benjamin was so worn out that he fell asleep on me!

After naptime, we headed to the Chipotle Cultivate festival over at City Park.  It was BLAZING hot, but we love Chipotle and the festival is great with lots of educational stuff, free food, music, and kids stuff.  We even got to listen to Air Dubai play some music!

And that night, we headed to Lafayette to play a gig at Miller's Bar and Grille.  It was my first time singing in awhile, and I have to say, I didn't hate it ;)  Our buddies Kim and Paul came out to watch, and thankfully BWL took a big liking to Paul to rescue poor Grama from toddler-duty occasionally!

And this is BWL joining me to sing, he became obsessed with the microphone and demanded to sing in it at all times (i.e. he threw a tantrum when I had to take the mic away!):

Sunday was a day for resting, doing some yardwork, preparing for Mimi and Papa's visit, and taking a big trip to Target.  Thankfully, Benjamin knows how to carry bags in now.  Such a helpful little guy!
