Christmas! (Post 1 of 3) :)

This year's Christmas was just about as wonder-filled as can be! Benjamin is finally at the age where he gets it, well at least enough to make it really fun through his eyes. He SLEPT IN til 8am (a huge Christmas gift to daddy and me) and then ran out to check if Santa had come. We did stockings, had breakfast, opened gifts, sang songs, played with toys... it was awesome! And Avery was so alert and wide-eyed at all of it, it filled my heart!

Here are some pics from our Christmas Eve and Christmas morning (I've got posts coming on our Christmas-times with the Larsons and Monroes, but am still working on getting those together!).

Uncle Bryan spent the night with us when he flew in (lucky us!), so on Christmas Eve morning while Matt was at work, Benjamin got to open a present!

That night we went to the Christmas Eve service at our church (Amber joined us!), and it was a great time despite chasing Benjamin around during the service :) It was so great being with our church family singing wonderful songs celebrating the birth of Jesus!

(But first, singing Jingle Bells on the way to church:)

After church we decided to take advantage of the decent weather and let Benjamin stay up WAY late so we could go to Zoo Lights.  And I'm so glad we did - Benjamin loved it, and Avery even loved gazing up at all the lights from her car seat! It was nice enough out to not feel crazy chilly, but we all carried around a little hot chocolate and sang Christmas carols together :)

And then it was Christmas morning!!!  Sleeping in past 8am was all the gift that we needed :)

A little video right after waking up:

Avery LOVED watching her big brother:

More pics to come... :)
