Halloween and other October happenings...

It's been a crazy month, a lot of things happening in Larsonland, both good and not so good, but stay tuned for an update on life in the land of Larson soon... here is a semi-catch up post since I don't want to forget to capture so many of the great memories we've been making this Fall.  As we enter the season of Thanksgiving, I know that I am most certainly thankful for all the amazing people in our lives helping us make these memories.

First, Halloween  - or as Benjamin says: "Happy Ween!"  "Cannny!"

Halloween morning before heading to daycare:

Benjamin had two costumes this year (as I posted about earlier), but we stuck with the Lion outfit that Mimi sent us a few weeks ago.  It was cute and perfectly warm for the chilly night of trick-or-treating.  We first made a trip to Matt's work to trick-or-treat through his office... there were lots of cute kiddos there!

After that, we took Benjamin to a few houses around our neighborhood, and he was loving it!  He even knocked and occasionally said "Happy Ween" or "Chrickertrit".  We even met some new friends (i.e. neighbors) and enjoyed time catching up with other neighbors at a little Halloween party about a block from us.  We were reminded how much we LOVE our neighborhood and the people in it.  What a great night.

Adding more candy to his stash from the family stash...  tricky tricky!

Helping dad hand out candy to the kiddos after bedtime (and a nice faceplant in his Lion suit resulting in a blood-covered lion suit... a little too advanced for a toddler's halloween outfit!)

And here's a quick peek at other things that have been going on.

Supper Group at our house last month - can I say how AWESOME it is to have friends who are willing to bring pack and plays, set up shop, and enjoy food/wine together?  We're really lucky, to say the least.

We met up with the Turrill crew to trade off a few family pics... Benjamin was not too thrilled about it, but I did get some cute ones of the T-fam... just need to actually get those together.  Oops!  So slow over here!  In a perfect world, Mackenzie and I would have super awesome cameras and start our own business.  But I don't think that'll be happening anytime soon...
Me and my co-photographer

how cute are these kids??
Kari was nice enough to watch Benjamin for a day - and Benjamin CANNOT stop talking about Noah.  He really loves that boy :)

Lots of cheering for the Broncos (still: "Go Bahncos!  Go Pehttin!!")

Kari, Mackenzie and I attended our high school's Homecoming football game - and it was hilarious.  I didn't even realize until we got there that it was the 15th anniversary of our last Homecoming game while in school, the very same Homecoming weekend that Mackenzie was crowned Homecoming QUEEN.  I tried to use that to our benefit, but they wouldn't even let us in for free!  And no one even recognized her/us (well, that's only partly true) ;) Disappointing CHS!  Alas, it was great to spend time with these friends that have been such a big part of my life for almost two decades.  I LOVE them.

1998:
Mackenzie and I were in student council, so this picture was taken after the Homecoming dance was over and we had to clean it all up! :)

Prom 1999
 Homecoming 2013, Go Warriors!:

We keep visiting the zoo and museum as often as we can...

We had a quick visit from my cousin Aaron and his most-awesome wife Anne-Marie... and they even brought their brand-new baby Augustus!!  Love them :)

That's it for this post.  We're just glad that Fall is here, and warm/winter clothes have made an appearance!  Although, you know Colorado - it loves to be sunny and warm as much as it can :)

First "snow" of the season...
