Michigan 2014

{this was originally supposed to post awhile ago, but something came up (i.e. a new baby!!) and I'm a little behind... we'll get to that soon!}

Another summer is nearing an end, and we have another wonderful trip to Michigan to remember.  This year we roadtripped it, which was - uh - generally fun :)  With a potty-training toddler, a pregnant mom, and a small-bladdered grampa, we stopped quite frequently and nearly added 50% of the duration of the trip to our travels.  Ouch.  Thankfully, we were riding in style as my dad drove his big white van.

It was fun getting to spend time with family that we don't see that often, and we're so thankful that our Gram is doing so well at her young age of 91.  She's a fierce old woman with a lot of passion.  Benjamin calls her "old Gram", and it was sweet to see him give her kisses each morning when we'd arrive at their cottage.

Here are some pictures from the trip!

We had a great time and enjoyed amazing weather (the complete opposite of last year's rainy days)!!  Benjamin LOVED the beach and the lake and had no troubles jumping in the water or asking to be thrown in.  He would ride on a raft out with us and then play games or be tossed around by anyone willing.  It was so much fun to hear his joy each day as we played in the lake.

Our fave videos from the 4th of July:

How he watched fireworks:

We got to spend a little time with Rachel, Emme, and Lucy who drove down from Grand Rapids.  Have I mentioned how much we miss them!?!

What long beach days will do to you at dinner time!

34 weeks pregnant!

He liked to ride his bike everywhere!

Making a stop at Three Floyds in Indiana on our way home to CO!

Who doesn't love getting to visit such a fun place filled with many memories!
