Happy Ten Months!

Dear Benjamin,
I've tried to be really good about updating your monthly birthdays on the actual monthly birthday, but sorry little man, this week has been a bit crazy!  So, no it is not your actual ten month birthday, but I can explain the delay...

On Wednesday (your "birthday"), I took you to the pediatrician's office because something just wasn't quite right with your man parts... they sent us quickly off to Children's Hospital where we spent several hours getting an ultrasound and meeting with a urologist, but thankfully at the end of it all, you were ok!  Yes, lots of pain for a few days, but no surgery thankfully (which is what the pediatrician and I feared!).  Despite the pain, and all the pokes and prods at your private area, you were in good spirits.  Such a trooper!
Hey Mom, why are we at the doctor's again?

Why are you touching me there!?!?
Thankfully Aunt Keri was working so she stopped by to visit!

Your dad and I were so happy to go home after the good news:

But back to the real reason for the post: You are getting old... I mean, seriously, you are getting closer and closer to one year old, and I can hardly stand it!  That means that (in addition to this being one of the last monthly updates I write - I just don't think I can keep it up past 1 year!) you are growing way too quickly, getting bigger, stronger, and smarter every day.

We just moved into our new home in Park Hill, and so far you're enjoying it - and by enjoying I mean you love crawling everywhere, climbing up on everything, and trying to stick just about anything you find in your mouth.  It's been tough containing you with all our "stuff" everywhere!  Hopefully it's only building your love of boxes for future holidays/birthdays ;)  But you seem to love the new digs, that's for sure.

You are a busy busy boy as usual, and it's been so fun watching you figure out more and more.  You crawl at warp speed, stand up as much as you can, eat just about everything (minus food with milk, of course), and even have stood up without holding on to anything for up to 20 seconds!  The speed at which your carry yourself across furniture makes me nervous that you'll be walking soon... but hopefully we still have time.   You also talk nonstop... though in the past few days you've traded your "momomom"s and "babababa"s with raspberries - apparently this is both fun and exciting to you!  And your laughs (especially the deep belly ones when you're being tickled) make me SO happy.

How do you look so old?!

You exhaust of your toys very easily and only seem to want to play with whatever anyone else has at the moment.  This includes phones, pens, remotes, etc.  And if any of your buddies have a toy, you all of a sudden show interest in it.  (This is very reminiscent of your brother Lincoln, you know.)

Oh, and your top two teeth are HUGE now :)  such a big boy!

You still LOVE bathtime.  In fact, most days, you crawl to the tub just hoping someone will put you in.

And just in case anyone wants a taste of how wild you really are, here's a small example :)

You also have been trying to climb stairs (so far you've only made it up two on your own)... this is yet another frightening development!

I haven't had much time to take pictures of you lately other than while exploring/enjoying our new house... so this short update will have to do.  I have SO enjoyed looking through your monthly birthday posts reminiscing about how small you were and how much you've grown.  These ten months have flown by, and I have a feeling the next ten years will too.  We love you Pooh Bear!

Love,
Mom & Dad
