One Month!

Dear Avery,

Happy one month birthday sweet baby girl!

Day One:

one month old!

{PS - Benjamin is not one month old, but he wanted a picture too :)}

I did twelve monthly updates on Benjamin when he was born, so I'm going to do my best to do them for you as well!  You have blessed us in so many ways and are already teaching us so much.  Being a second-time parent means that we've learned a lot of things (like only buy used baby stuff, sorry!), but we know we'll continue to have much to learn with this go round as well.  

We're very thankful that Benjamin has been a superstar big brother.  I am honestly blown away by how sweet and loving he is towards you.  We never have to worry with him around you (thank goodness!), and he is always wanting to sing to you or read to you... and it melts my heart!  (Nevermind that he does act out more often for mom and dad, but we'll take that over him being rough with you.)  I hope you two always stay close and that he can be your big protector as you guys travel through life.

Benjamin loves helping out with you so much that he now "babies" his bff Monkey and "feeds" him like we feed you!

You are finally starting to wake up a bit more - we feel like most of this month you've spent snoozing!  You did catch a mild cold last week, but the doctor said your lungs sound good, so we are thankful for that!  You've already had to go through a lot as a little newborn, and we know there's much more to come, but you've gone through it gracefully and I know you will continue to.  Thank you for bearing with your worried and loving parents.  We are doing our best to learn about your condition and to make sure that we can give you the best life possible.  We love you so much! (Also, you are finally almost 7lbs!  We weighed you on Friday when visiting the doctor, and you were 6lbs 13oz!)

You're still sleeping in our room since you'll go anywhere from 3-5 hours between feedings, so sometimes in the morning we all climb into bed and snuggle together!
