Of course we were stuck in brutal traffic on the way down...
But, we had an even more adventurous drive getting into New Mexico - these are a sample of some of the signs we saw... (wild horse, elk, deer, cows, you name it!) Thankfully someone flashed their headlights at us on Le Veta Pass because once we came around a bend, there were five deer, one in the middle of the road! And later as we crossed into New Mexico on a two lane road, a pack of wild horses were hanging out... in the ROAD. No longer was I scared of just those crazy deer grazing by the road... I now was looking for horses!?!? (Oh, and I did hit a few field mice...so much for loving wildlife)
But when we finally got there, we had a mini hotel-room party!
Breakfast burritos in the morning, of course:

Then it was off, in the rain, to Sipapu! We asked Siri for directions, and this is what we got:
It was only drizzling when we got there, but we loaded up the trusty stroller and threw on the rain cover... Benjamin had the best spot all day! We were off!
Benjamin liked dancing with my mom and Jason...

Gorgeous drive back to the hotel...
That night we ate some tasty tamales, watched some Olympics, and chatted about the gig. It was a fun (and tiring!) day!
Sunday morning we hit the road to my mom's place to eat some breakfast. Benjamin was inspired by his dad's performance the day before, so he tried to play some tunes on the piano :)
Thanks for the fun times, mom!
Benjamin (thankfully) snoozed most of the ride home...
oh my frick... that Benjamin just gets cuter all the time! Looks like it was a great time. Great pics!
