Happy 7 months!

Dear Benjamin,

Today you are 7 months old (your golden month birthday!)!

You are getting so big, strong, and wild.  And we love you!

Here are some fun things about what you're like these days:

Your cheeks have taken over your face.  They are quite possibly the most squeezable/kissable cheeks ever!  (Many a stranger, in fact, try to take advantage of this...)

You are VERY active - you don't like to sit still often, and if we put you down somewhere, we will likely find you five feet away within seconds.  No more turning our backs on you!  But no, this is not thanks to crawling... you have adopted a very interesting mixture of rolling, butt-scooting, and backwards crawling that help you get the places you want to be.  And usually, the place you want to be is anywhere you aren't!

You have TWO teeth and seem to be close to getting more!  The nights have been a little tough around here as your teething has replaced many hours of sleep, but it'll all be worth it some day!  (I do have to say, it's quite weird having you chomp down on my fingers now with two sharp teeth on the bottom of your mouth.)  I am also blaming your extreme fussiness on this new development.  Let's hope I'm right ;)

If you look closely in these pictures, you can see the two teeth (it's hard to snap them when you're so bouncy!):

In relation to that, you still put everything in your mouth.  (And by everything, I mean you even tried to chomp on Lincoln's leg this morning.  I'm sure he would have loved that!)  You love chewing on your hands and feet if nothing is in arm's reach, but you especially love grabbing anything we're drinking, mostly if it's a nice cold bottle of daddy's beer.  Silly boy!

You've been enjoying the Olympics with us every night.  I had to break my rule about no TV... but during your fussy nights these days, a few minutes watching water polo, gymnastics, hurdles, synchronized diving, or just about anything seems to cheer you up a bit!  Your mom and dad have been watching every single night... which also doesn't help our lack of sleep issue in the Larson house!  You even sport your British bibs (you happen to have two) regularly!

Go Phelps, go!

You LOVE to eat real food!  I don't blame you at all, because I tasted your formula, and it is DISGUSTING.  Wow, you've been a trooper!  Your favorite so far are bananas, but you'll eat anything: peas, squash, pears, sweet potatoes, green beans, apples, the list goes on!
You've even gotten semi-good at holding your own bottle... but still not quite there yet!

You still love bath time, but this hasn't quite translated to loving the pool all that much just yet.  We took you for your first "underwater" session in Taos last weekend, and you didn't seem too excited by the new tricks... we'll stick to playing in the tub for now (i.e. eating the rubber duckies).

right after you got dunked!
I prefer the taste of fireman-duck

You LOVE to bounce (and not just in your bouncer anymore!).  Sometimes I think you may bounce right of the bed/couch/chair, but so far we've contained you.  It's a pretty joyful sight...

And your nicknames are still: Wild Beast (occasionally wildabeast for short), Bubba, Benji Bear and most often Pooh Bear.

There are so many things I could write about here, because you seem to grow and change every day.  I could talk about all the goofy noises you make (like, ALL the time), the funny ways you try to get Lincoln to like you, the amazing laughs you give whenever you see yourself in a picture or on camera... but this will do for now. We just love you so much (no sleep and all) and can't believe you're already seven months old!

Love,
Mom & Dad
