Matt turns old

Matt (finally) turned 30 last week.  And though his lifestyle would indicate that he's been old for awhile now (hehe), his age is finally catching up to him.

Since we had such a great time for my 30th renting a big house and having friends celebrate together, we decided something similar would be fun for Matt... except 3 years later our pace is quite a bit different.  So we booked a "party bus", invited friends over, and sent the boys on their merry way around some great breweries in Denver (they stopped at Crooked Stave, Epic Brewery, Great Divide, and Jagged Mountain, in case you were curious... a final stop was made at 1-up, an old school video game bar downtown.  I think some of the boys were in heaven).  It was so nice for people to come out of their way on the Saturday after Thanksgiving to help us celebrate.  We're blessed with great (and fun) friends!  {Thank you also to Yelp who helped me find this super cheap (and thankfully reliable) party bus!}

A few pics from the "pre-party" at our house:

 (and yes, somehow moms and kids ended up downstairs...)

Then the bus rolled up, and the boys were off!

Here are a few pics I was able to get from phones... there's no telling what really went on (though Matt does have four awesome new shirts from the breweries they visited!  I think they were his favorite birthday gift)

We also celebrated Matt's birthday with a nice dinner out at a new-ish restaurant in Denver (in Uptown) called Humboldt.  The food was awesome, the atmosphere seemed great (for a Tuesday night!), and they weren't too pretentious to make us feel stupid about bringing a toddler along.  We enjoyed a great dinner and some great wine, and a free dessert for the 30 year old!  Benjamin and I sure do love this guy :)  I wish we could have spent all week celebrating how much we love and appreciate him!  Even in his old age :P

this kid loved the chocolate birthday cake!

We also went out to Efrains for a tasty Mexican dinner celebration with my parents.  Of course I have no pictures of the meal, but we did snap a picture of Benjamin going over to greet the Santa.
