Doctor's visit and other goings on

First, a morning greeting from Benjamin since he woke up in the best mood ever (I tried to grab my camera as quickly as possible, but I seem to always miss the best parts and only got the tail end of a huge smile)!  We spent almost an hour just cuddling and smiling before heading to the awful appointment...

Today was Benjamin's two month checkup at the pediatrician.  We are thankful to have found such a great doctor who has already helped us through a few tough things in only two short months!  We talked more today about what he calls BW's "severe" milk-induced colitis (and how we probably can't try the soy - i.e. cheaper - formula for at least two months), and chatted for awhile about Benjamin's overall development.  It's nice to be in a doctor's office who never makes you feel like he's in a rush or needs to be going somewhere! :)

Benjamin's stats:
Weight: 10lbs 11.5oz*, 27th Percentile
*this was right after some chowing down, so slightly skewed
Length: 22 3/4", 43rd Percentile
Head Circ: 15 3/8", 27th Percentile

The sad part of the visit was that BW had to get his first real round of vaccines.  One oral and five by injection.  Why can't they all be oral??  Wow, the pleasant demeanor that Benjamin had for the first 50 minutes of the appointment completely disappeared with the first shot.  Poor little guy - my eyes filled up with tears at almost the same rate as his.  But he made it and is now only having random bouts of sadness/fussiness from it which should hopefully be done in the next day or so.  Plus, he's snoozing like a champ!
looking happy before the awful shots...

More proof of his very pleasant mood pre-shots:

the face when we got home - still better than the face during the shots!
poor baby!

In other happenings, I took BW to a small baby shower for a friend from my old school on Tuesday where he got to meet a bunch of the teachers that I worked with (and love!).  He was a big hit and was pretty well behaved most of the time!

That night our supper group (minus two couples) went out for dinner at ChoLon taking advantage of the last week of Restaurant Week.  We enjoyed a drink beforehand at the Rio next door and then enjoyed a delicious dinner together!  Boaz even made the trip (we left BW home with Aunt Amber)!

Wednesday morning, Benjamin and I headed out to the airport to hang out with Mimi and Papa during their layover on their way to Texas for a medical conference.  It was so nice of them to plan the quick visit into their travels - I know Benjamin loves to get all their love as much as he can!
excited to see his grandparents!

sad the fun is over

And here are a few other cute pics of the little man:

And you can pretend that Benjamin is talking to you here:
