Weekend Fun

This past weekend was packed with fun, and thankfully I captured most of it with pictures :)  Not surprised, huh?

After five vaccines and working through the milk allergy formula-switch over thing, Benjamin rested a lot and seemed fine and happy by Friday!  He's been a brave little guy, and I'm finally today starting to notice a big difference with the formula switch.  YAY.  Little guy needed his rest before such a big weekend!

he even loved a little walk in the baby bjorn with mom (and searching for his thumb of course)
almost got it!

Friday after work we headed out to meet a few friends for drinks and had a great time catching up and enjoying the beautiful spring-like weather here in Denver!

After drinks, we met up with Mackenzie and Ben (+baby Bode!) for a fabulous dinner on the last night of Restaurant Week at Linger.  The restaurant was kind enough to give us a HUGE booth since Mackenzie was smart enough to warn them that we would have not one, but two babies/carseats with us.  It worked out terrifically (even though the boys didn't want to sleep and rather enjoyed hanging out... despite the dads taking them outside to swing in their carseats in attempts to lure naptime!), and it was so great getting to catch up with old friends.  I love it when you can barely remember a meal itself (I'm sure it was delicious) because the whole time was passed by chatting away (a mile a minute as Ben pointed out).

Bode wasn't quite sure what to make of his mini-me at first

no more photos, moms!!

Matt kept Bode entertained with a little phone-game action
and Big Ben kept Benjamin entertained with some cuddles

Just two boys out on the town!

Rachel and John were kind enough to babysit Benjamin later that night so that Matt and I could catch one of his coworkers play in a band opening up a show at the Bluebird.  We were thankful to leave Benjamin in such good hands so that we could have a great time with no worries :)  The concert was FAB, the bands were great, and the headliner, Churchill, is an amazing band from Denver that I highly suggest you check out.  If you live in this area, you may have heard their song Change on the radio (which is awesome), and another great one to check out is called The Only One.  I promise you won't be disappointed.  Plus, hooray for Denver music!

After such a fun (and late) Friday night, we were quickly reminded on Saturday morning that new parents do not get to sleep in :)  So Matt headed to watch some soccer with friends at the Bulldog (and took Benjamin along for the fun) while I got ready for my friend Briana's baby shower that I was co-hosting with some of her friends.  My not so huge roll included bringing some food and making the playlist, but I was glad to also help out with preparations beforehand - her friends were so creative and did an excellent job!  I also snapped quite a few pics (only a small sample below of course) so the mom-to-be could have the great memories on "film".

Clearly he was loving it

there was a cute onesie-making station - people did amazing jobs!

Sunday was another beautiful day (though a little more cloudy), so we packed up the fam and headed to Boulder (even with the Stinker).  Kari (+1) and Noah met us at Chatauqua to snap a couple pictures of us with the flatirons in the background (it was a little too windy to get anything great), and then we ran by the 29th Street Mall briefly to cash in on a gift card.  (Sidenote: I am always amazed at how different Boulder is than when I grew up... I feel like I barely recognize it anymore!  Too many years have passed since the days of taking the RTD bus to the Crossroads Mall...).  We then headed to Kari and Jeff's house to have an impromptu and awesome dinner in their backyard.  It was such a great time enjoying the weather and the company of people I love so much!

And a few extra cute pics of Noah that I snapped:

And a cute one of the Larson crew with the flatirons (plus a sad baby):
