I was grateful for time with some friends this week/weekend as Matt was quite busy most evenings and of course Benjamin was in a grumpy mood a bit more often than usual. Being a stay at home mom, which is what I currently am sans job, is tough work! And definitely exhausting when a portion of your day involves a wailing baby. And when said baby is not sleeping well (i.e. wakes up three times a night just to cry for attention or a pacifier), said stay at home mom gets a little loopy. I'm not sure how single moms do it. With Matt in Canada for work next week (only for three days), I'll be praying that Benjamin will at least give me a peace offering through some better sleep :) We think he's going through a growth spurt and/or starting the beginning stages of teething... so we've bumped up his formula amounts and even have him on the next size bottle nipple! No one can say that brother is not a good eater.
Thankfully, the time alone-ish was broken up with a visit from Kari and Noah on Friday. We had a great time catching up and letting Noah get his baby fix :) He's going to be a big brother in a few months!! So exciting. He loved Benjamin and Benjamin LOVES his aunt Kari!
It was such a change to finally have toys around that Noah could entertain himself with! How grown up our house finally is ;) (And thank you for the new toys you brought us Noah!!)
the aftermath (minus toys that are under the couch) |
Saturday afternoon we headed into Boulder to meet up with the Turrill family on Pearl Street. The original plan was to head to the CU Football spring game, but the ominous skies meant we'd rather keep the kiddos inside. We met at Hapa for sushi (don't worry, I had a salad!) and had a great time catching up. After our late lunch we headed into the Boulder Bookstore and spent a little time in their awesome children's section. We saw so many great books from our own childhoods, I think it may even be more fun for adults than for the kiddos! The rain started just as we were leaving Boulder, so it ended up being a smart decision to skip the game, but we're still excited for some CU football in the Fall!

Happy Spring!
Oh, and here's a short video of Benjamin hanging out with his friend Clark (the yellow bug that hangs on his carseat). Not sure what it is about that bug, but it cracks Benjamin up!
That was sooo fun Larson family:)!! Ali, beautiful pics as always!!
