A Perfect Family Day (?)

How does this even happen? Let's be clear, we do not have perfect days often. Or wait, maybe ever! But on this particular day, the magic was in the fact that the sun was shining bright, there were no plans on our calendars, and everyone was starting to feel better after a couple days of feeling a little under the weather and a little stir crazy. It was the perfect storm in a sense, and I'm so thankful to have had a day like this in the midst of the crazy holiday season. It was nice to just BE with everyone, to feel rejuvenated instead of exhausted, to be joyful instead of defeated. I wish us more days like this in 2016!

Everyone woke up in a good mood. If that's not a good sign, I don't know what is!

After Avery's nap, we decided to take a family walk to the holiday craft fair in our neighborhood. It was great (and we even loaded up on a few Christmas gifts!). The weather was deceptively nice... the snow was iced on the ground when some rain fell the day before, but it was so warm out that Matt ended up wearing his t-shirt for most of the day!

After the market, we enjoyed lunch at the local market, Spinellis. Yum! (Could these two be any cuter together??)

Then we walked to the library to return books :) Who doesn't love a library stop!?

Then back home for naps. Benjamin doesn't usually nap anymore, but after all that walking, he was tuckered out. PLUS, his sister was teething like crazy and hadn't been sleeping well at night. So he had spent the past few nights sleeping on his old crib mattress on our floor. Pretty fun, huh? So for this nap time, he wanted to sleep on the crib mattress ON our bed. However silly, it worked!

Rockstar naps lead to more good moods and a decision to head to Union Station for drinks and dinner!

Denver is so magical downtown during Christmas!

Union Station is so much fun during the holidays too! From the beautiful Christmas tree to the lights to the amazing old-fashioned Santa. It was so fun to enjoy it with the kiddos.
