Last month, we celebrated year six of Supper Group with our annual Christmas Dinner. It was our turn to host, and instead of stressing out about cooking and cleaning, we decided to take it up a notch by doing a wine tasting hosted by Wines for Humanity and a dinner made by the guys behind Pavy's Food Truck. It was a genius idea concocted mostly by Howie, and sadly, his stepfather had a medical emergency so he had to fly to New England to be with family. (We certainly missed Howie, but were so heartbroken with that news yet thankful he could go be with his loved ones. Unfortunately, his stepfather passed away just before Christmas at the young age of 59. Just so heartbreaking. Our hearts are with him and his family.)
I highly recommend doing a special dinner like this with your friends. The stress level was SO low, the kids were with babysitters (or in our case, in our basement with my sister, then later, Avery was with us at the table since she is occasionally allergic to sleep). The wine tasting was so much fun and a really great deal, especially considering a portion of their proceeds go to charity (we ended up buying quite a few bottles of good wine supporting that great business model). The food was beyond delicious (if you're in Denver, I highly recommend these guys!!). And it was pretty affordable considering how much we got out of everything (wine, three course dinner, etc.).
I actually brought out my real camera to snap a few pics throughout the night, believe it or not. I put out a digital photo frame running through pictures from supper group over the years, and it was so much fun for me to put together. It reminded me that I need to continue taking pictures because these years go by too quickly. We are so thankful for this group of people who helped us build a home and life in Colorado. They are some of the best people we know. Though life keeps us so much busier than it did 6-7 years ago, we will always cherish the time, love, and fun we've shared!
So cheers to Supper Group!
And of course, a few pics from my phone while we're at it:
